Prof. Walter Patrick was an eminent alumnus of the Colombo Medical School who was renowned for his commitments to Public and Preventive Health globally. He passed away in May 2014 and his family donated a sum of Rs. 400,000.00 in his memory to support a medical student who demonstrates excellence in Community Medicine. Each year a selected student receives an award of Rs.20,000.00.
